dublab Membership Drive 2025

I organized 8 events during the month of June to promote outreach during dublab’s month-long annual Membership Drive (as well as setting up pop-ups at several other auxiliary events we were involved with that month). The result was one of the strongest drives of the last 6 years, in which we exceeded our fundraising goal ($26,000) by over $4,000 ($30,100)—despite being in a state of leadership transition in our organization and wider political unreset in Los Angeles.

My finale Live-In-Studio event (pictured here) raised over $3,500 alone and signed up over 10 new sustaining members while connecting dublab residents across generations—all broadcasted live on dublab radio.

6/1 - Membership Drive Basketball Tournament

6/3, 10, 17, 24 - Membership Drive DJ sets at Tabula Rasa

6/8 - Ocean of Sound

dublab Juneteenth Cookout 2025

Together with Magdalena O’Neal & Breana Jackson, I co-produced a Juneteenth Cookout at dublab that drew over 1000 attendees to the dublab studios with free food, free drinks, and 8 hrs of DJ sets live on dublab radio. The event generated significant press and social media buzz, coinciding with the 2nd strongest day of the month-long 2025 Membership Drive.

dublab Membership Drive 2025

I curated an AAPI Heritage Month festival at Grand Central Market featuring an improvised trio of Patrick Shiroishi, Dustin Wong, and Dylan Fujioka, as well as DJ sets from Mary Nagakawa and T-Kay. I also commissioned two mixes by Patrick Shiroishi and T-Kay that played in the market during the month, and produced two interviews with the artists that were shared on GCM and dublab social media channels.

Night at the Library: Building Stories

I curated 2 live performances, 4 DJ sets, and a multimedia installation for the inaugural “Night at the Library: Building Stories” - a night time takeover of the LA Central Library by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Public Library, LAist, and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in association with LA Phil Insight. Additionally, in collaboration with Melody Scallion, dublab’s AV Coordinator, I facilitated the AV production of the library’s ambitious program via technical consultation, day-of-event production management, and technical staffing.

This exploratory program sold out at 3000 tickets and brought hundreds of Angelenos to the historic LA Central Library for the first time. It was a privilege to curate performances that each shared their own stories of art in Los Angeles, from acoustic performances that excavated the sonic history of the rotunda, to multimedia installations that built an oral history of the night’s proceedings.

dublab Artists-in-Residence Pilot

I curated dublab’s first Artists-in-Residence, featuring a collaborative exhibition by Nina Keith and Sammie Veeler titled Severity of Belonging, featuring additional contributions by Olive Ardizoni (Green-House) and Rachika Nayar.

The residency supported Nina and Sammie with 2 months of time to develop their works on site at dublab’s historic facilities in University Park, a novel use of our studio that promoted community engagement and positioned dublab as a resource for artists working at the intersection of sound, new media, and sculpture.

The residency culminated in a week of open visiting hours celebrated by two seperate days of live performances in concert with the installation, which drew over 100 attendees and featured Girl Debord, Massima Bell, Colloboh, Qur’an Shaheed, as well as Nina and Sammie.

Memory in Motion

Presented in partnership between dublab and Getty Research Institute, ‘Memory in Motion’ was a collaborative multimedia performance orchestrated by Colloboh in response to Sensing the Future: Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.).

Through a series of performative experiments utilizing sound, video, and technology, ‘Memory in Motion’ examined various modalities by which information is acquired, stored, interpreted and continuously iterated upon.

This ambitious program brought together visual artists, musicians, and designers to present something new and experimental in the spirit of E.A.T.’s 9 Evenings, featuring multimedia experiments of sound, video, and technology by Colloboh, alsoknownasrox, tp Dutchkiss, Clayton McCracken,  Qur’an Shaheed, Nathan Keith, Madison McFarland, and Adrien Oneiga, including the longest audio tape loop on record at 162 feet, which can be seen extending across the three machines on stage and above the audience to the balcony.

The performance garnered over 1000 RSVPs and packed the Getty Center’s 400 seat Harold M. William’s Auditorium. It also served as a prototype for dublab’s artist residency program, activating the facilities as a workspace for artists to experiment and develop new ideas. This program was curated by Chelsea Anderson, Tate Chavez and Collins Oboh. Photos by Sam Lee. Flyer by Miles Wintner.

dublab & In Sheep’s Clothing Fire Relief Record Sale

Organized in collaboration with Mark “Frosty” McNeill and In Sheep’s Clothing (Jonny Garciaros & Phillip Cho), this fundraiser for victims of the Eaton and Palisades fires raised over $26,000 in direct aid.

I solicited and facilitated intake of donations from over 100 different record labels / vendors / brand partners / community members, I coordinated 50 volunteers across 3 days and 5 different shifts, I booked 8 dublab DJs to mix with records on display for the fair, and I helped direct the distribution of funds to beneficiaries.

This experience was incredibly fulfilling and I’m privileged to be able to give back to the community through my job.

Sonic Activations of Fathomers’ Emergence: Art from Life

I had the honor of curating 3 musical interpretations of Fathomers’ Emergence: Art from Life exhibition at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center. It was awesome seeing Jeremiah Chiu, Callie Ryan, and Dustin Wong interpret the works through their own mediums.

PST ART: Art & Science Family Festival at The Getty Center

I worked with the awesome team at Community Arts Resources (CARS) to produce a few musical activations of the Getty Center for their PST: Art & Science Family Festival. I invited dublab DJs T-Kay and Maalbea to soundtrack festivities in the courtyard, and had the utmost pleasure of tapping my friends at Living Earth to curate and co-produce performances by Low Leaf and Alexey Seliverstov in the Robert Irwin Central Gardens.
