Tate Egon Chavez is a composer, curator, and arts programmer based in Los Angeles.
Tate has been a dedicated organizer of Los Angeles’ experimental music ecosystem, co-founding Living Earth (formerly Floating) and facilitating Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight Under a Tree before joining dublab as Events Director. His programming fosters curiosity, experimentation, and inclusivity, bringing together musicians, designers, engineers, and community partners to realize thoughtful programs.
As a composer, Tate brings an artist-first approach to his programming. He holds a B.A. in Music and Economics from UC Berkeley, where he studied composition at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT). His compositions have been featured at Ars Electronica (2016, 2019, 2021), Singapore Inside Out: Tokyo, and numerous film festivals. His dual role as musician and organizer continually informs his approach to producing artful gatherings.
